Notice of Meeting to Vote on Tax Rate

The Town Council of the Town of Ponder, Texas, will conduct a public meeting to vote on the proposed 2026 property tax rate.

The Town Council has proposed a property tax rate of:

$0.694379 per $100 of taxable valuation

For comparison, the Town's calculated 2026 property tax rates are:

No-New-Revenue Tax Rate: $0.707665
Voter-Approval Tax Rate: $0.756793
De Minimis Rate: $0.867193
Rates are per $100 of taxable valuation.

The no-new-revenue tax rate is the rate that would impose approximately the same amount of taxes as the previous year on properties taxed in both years. The voter-approval tax rate is generally the highest rate that may be adopted without an election, subject to applicable provisions of state law.

The proposed rate of $0.694379 is lower than the 2026 no-new-revenue tax rate.

The public is invited to attend the meeting and the Town Council may consider adoption of the 2026 property tax rate.
