Plead Guilty or No Contest and Pay the Fine

If you want to submit a plea and pay a citation in full, you may do so as follows:

Payment Online or by Mail

Access the Online Payment button on the Town of Ponder Home web page, select "Pay Citation, and enter your personal information.  For your citation number, enter a 25- before your citation number (Example 25-00000).  Contact the Court Clerk (940) 479-7011 if you experience issues, or you can call or email clerk for the citation fine. 

By Mail: Sign the back of your citation, select plea, and mail citation and a money order for the full amount of the Citation to:

DO not mail or leave cash payments in the after-hours drop box .

Appear in Court - automatically assigned by the Court

You will receive a Court Appearance Date letter, usually within 10 business days of your citation. Monthly Court is held on the first Monday of the month at 4:00 p.m., with some Court date exceptions, holidays and special circumstances or events.

Prior to your Court Appearance Date, defendants may have options to make a written appearance, plea, and payment with the Court Clerk; options depend on the specific violation on your citation. Your Court Appearance Date letter explains some options, and the Court website has more details.   You may call or email the Court Clerk for more information; however, it is vital to note that to make an APPEARANCE, you must do so in writing, during which time, you will submit a plea.  A phone call is not considered an appearance.  Options for dismissals or compliance require an appearance, plea, and/or payment.
